In Memory of Brandon Power
Brandon Patrick Power, of Mandeville, LA, was suddenly taken from us on March 5, 2021 in a tragic accident at the young age of 26. We, his adoring parents, Kevin Patrick Power and Susan Foreman Power, his sister, Madison Power, and brother, Devin Power, will miss him dearly. His partner and best friend, Dailey Thibeaux and family, are heartbroken. His paternal grandmother, Shirley Sketchler Power, and maternal grandparents, Ann Daigle Foreman and John Essie Foreman, are mourning, as are Brandon’s seven aunts, seven uncles, and 31 cousins, who love him immensely. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Michael Stephen Power, Jr. Brandon’s many incredible friends, who meant the world to him, are grieving for him. His loving dog, Suede, is lost without him.
Brandon graduated from St. Paul’s School in 2013, where he was a scrappy midfielder on the school’s first Lacrosse team, and his dad was his coach. He went on to earn a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Louisiana State University in 2017. He was a leader as an Engineering Ambassador in the LSU Ambassador Program and forged everlasting friendships. His enthusiasm for his school was unmatched and he inspired many people by his love for LSU. He had a very successful career with his last position as a Hardware Quality Engineer II with Raytheon Technologies, living in McKinney, TX, where he worked for the past three years and loved what he was doing.
Brandon had a light that shined a little extra bright. He lived his life with wonder and enthusiasm. He loved with his heart wide open, thought with the full power of his mind, and explored the world with curiosity and excitement. He embodied the most authentic version of himself and along the way, he inspired so many others to do the same. Brandon enriched our lives, guided us through difficulties, rejoiced with us, and blessed each of us.
While his family and friends are devastated by his passing, the love Brandon created during his time here is more alive than ever. He left a flame burning inside each of us that we should tend to, so that his love may grow and spread – rippling out across time and space. This is the miracle of a life well lived. And this is the miracle of our beloved Brandon. We are forever changed by the life he lived. His family encourages you to hold on securely to the memories of Brandon and to share his light with others.
