In Memory of Madison Brooks
Madison Kennedy Brooks, 19, resident of Covington, passed away on January 15, 2023. Madison was an LSU sophomore and was recently accepted into the Manship School of Mass Communication. She was an active and beloved member of Alpha Phi Sorority. Madison graduated from Saint Scholastica Academy in 2021, where she was an honor roll student, cheerleader, member of Doves for Life, Spirit Club, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She enjoyed adventures and travel, including: skydiving, skiing, experiencing new cities, and most importantly spending time with her family and friends.
Madison's heart was pure, her laugh infectious, and she lived every day to the fullest. Her legacy will forever shine in the stars above. Madison is survived by her parents John Brooks and Ashley Baustert (Scott); her siblings: Aiden Baustert, Brady Baustert, and Kaelyn Baustert; her grandparents: Sam and Merida Brooks, Charles Kert and Amanda R. LeBlanc, Keith and Michelle French, and Wayne Baustert; her great grandparents: Dr. James and Amanda Racca; her godparents: Hunter and Lauren LeBlanc; as well as countless aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Madison is preceded in death by Susanna Brooks Peveto, Carol Bowser, Malloy Reid French Sr., Jane H. French, Marie Broussard LeBlanc, and Paul Leo LeBlanc.
Gifts to the Madison Brooks Scholarship Fund will support students in the LSU Manship School of Mass Communications.
The LSU Foundation will work with Madison's family to establish the purpose of tribute funds contributed through this effort. Her family will also represent all donors for any needed revision to the purpose of the fund.
The LSU Foundation will share notices about memorial gifts with Madison's family. We do not share the gift amount unless a donor explicitly gives us permission to do so.
